Frequently asked questions

Didn’t find your answer? Call us — we’ll be happy to help.

What is the latest I can get vaccinated before my trip?

Ideally 4–6 weeks before, because the body needs time to build immunity and some vaccinations require several doses. If your trip is already close — come anyway. The doctor will choose an accelerated schedule and the vaccinations that will have time to work.

What is the “yellow card” and do I really need it?

It is the International Certificate of Vaccination — a document recognized worldwide. Some countries require it at entry, above all with an entry confirming yellow fever vaccination. Without it you can be turned back at the border. We issue it on site.

How much does everything cost?

The cost consists of the medical consultation and the price of the chosen vaccines. If you receive several vaccinations at one visit, the eligibility assessment is done only once. You will get an exact quote at registration or at the consultation.

Does the NFZ reimburse travel vaccinations?

No — vaccinations recommended before travel are fully self-paid. It is worth treating them as an investment, though: treating a tropical disease abroad can be far more expensive than prevention.

Can I receive several vaccines at one visit?

Yes, most vaccines can be safely given at the same time. The doctor decides the final schedule after taking your medical history.

I am traveling with a child — can they be vaccinated too?

Yes. The doctor will choose preparations suitable for the child’s age and check that the mandatory vaccination schedule is up to date — this is the basis of protection while traveling, too.

What about malaria? There is no travel vaccine for it.

That is right — in malaria regions pharmacological prophylaxis is used. The doctor will write a prescription for the appropriate medication and explain the rules of protection against mosquitoes (repellents, mosquito nets, clothing).

I am pregnant or have a weakened immune system. Can I be vaccinated?

Many vaccines can be used, but some — especially live ones, such as the yellow fever vaccine — have restrictions. Be sure to tell the doctor during the eligibility assessment; they will choose safe solutions and, if necessary, issue a certificate of contraindication.
